Core Values of Heart of the Valley…

A Heart for Prayer: We believe that God desires that men and women maintain an on going communication relationship with Him through prayer. We believe that prayer is essential to the health and direction of the Church, and that through prayer a Church maintains its unity of purpose.

“My house will be called a house of prayer.” Jesus, Matthew 21:13

A Heart for God’s Word: We believe that anointed teaching is the catalyst for transformation in the lives of individuals and the Church. We place a high value on spending time studying and teaching the principles of the Bible.

“Sanctify them by the truth; Your Word is truth.” Jesus, John 17:17

A Heart for Worship: We believe that worship is honoring God and binds the Church together as a family. We believe that worship should be culturally relevant while at the same time remaining doctrinally pure. We encourage that use of music and the arts as expressions of worship.

“God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” Jesus, John 4:24

A Heart for the Lost: We believe that people matter to God and therefore ought to matter to the Church. By this we believe that our Church and each member of the Church must be constantly reaching out to others, inviting them to be a part of God’s family.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Jesus, Matthew 28:19-20

A heart for Holiness: We believe that the Holy Spirit is at work in the lives of all believers, bringing them first into a state of wholeness and further into a state of holiness. We also believe that the Holy Spirit is at work in the world convincing and convicting men and women of their need for salvation.

“Be just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written; Be holy, because I am holy.” Jesus, 1 Peter 1:25-26

A Heart for Community: We believe that life change happens best in small groups of people committed together, one to another.

“By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.” Jesus, John 13:35

A Heart for Ministry: We believe that a Church should operate as a unified community of servants with men and women stewarding their spiritual gifts.

“Peace be with you! As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you.” Jesus, John 20:21-22
